ShapesWe have skipped to Unit 6, to incorporate math standards with our Monster Writing! In this unit, students will be classifying and sorting shapes based on their attributes, creating composite shapes, and breaking shapes into parts. See attached family letters and extra unit practice below.

Add and Subtract to 20In Unit 3, students will use number bonds, pictures, and equations to represent teen numbers. Students will add numbers together that will equal a sum greater than 10, using drawings, number bonds, and ten frames. Students will also use the make a ten strategy when there are two or three addends, and use the make a ten strategy to subtract numbers. Please see attached family letters for each lesson of this unit.
Learn Facts to 10In Unit 2, we are really focusing on fact fluency. We will be teaching students some "tips and tricks" to help learn their facts. Please see below attachments for Unit 2's Family Letters.
We will be taking the Unit 1 iReady math test this Friday, October 6. Below you will find the Unit 1 Review. We have been working on this unit review in class. You can help your child practice more by changing the numbers in each problem!
Count, Add, and Subtract For each lesson, within each unit, iReady provides family letters explaining what your child will be learning in math that week. Each lesson takes about a week to complete. Each letter will be posted to this page as we begin each unit. Therefore, you will have access to lesson letters, that your child's teacher may not have begun teaching yet. Please see below attachments for Unit 1's Family Letters.
***Family Letter File Names-The first number in the file name indicates what unit the letter is for, the "l" stands for lesson, and the number following indicates which lesson the letter discusses. For example, "1.l1_letter" means Unit 1, lesson 1. "3.l4_letter" would mean Unit 3, lesson 4 and so on.
